The International School of Laos was established as the Eastern Star Bilingual School in 2006 in Vientiane Capital, Laos. The Main Campus commenced its operation with only 200+ students. The number of enrollments doubled in 2007. The Main Campus is divided into Primary, Secondary and Kindergarten. Since its operation in 2006, the Primary Department has offered co-ed class 1-5 programs, and the Secondary Department offers co-ed Class Matayom-1 to 3 programs.
In just one year, Eastern Star established its 2nd Campus in Vientiane in Watnak village, started its operation in 2007 as a Kindergarten and Daycare facility then moved to its current location in Thongkang village in 2016. The new International School of Laos Thongkang Campus established its Primary department after the extension project and now serves Toddlers to Primary 5.
The International School of Laos Pakse opened its doors in 2015, serving Toddlers to Primary 3. It is the only school to offer an English Language International program in the province of Pakse. Today, the ISL Pakse Campus serves from Toddlers to Mateyom and is our first campus with a swimming facility.
In the history of ISL (ESBS), our students and faculty have achieved much at the national and international levels. Furthermore, being a two-time recipient of the Medal of Honor from the President of Lao PDR is one of our proud achievements.
